This Parador rises up on
the former 'Piedras Albas' palace in the historical centre of monumental
Ávila, backing onto the majestic city walls. In harmony with its
surroundings, the interior conserves a warm, intimate air in a splendidly
recovered atmosphere which enriches all the common rooms. Beautiful decorative
elements, granite and abode floors, bright colours and spacious bedrooms,
some with four-poster beds, make up a harmonious and bright whole. The
garden also stands out, with archaeological remains, as does the magnificent
glazed patio, the modular rooms and the cafeteria. The dining room offers

The Gredos mountain range
has given refuge to this stone building, the first of the Paradores, since
1928, among crystalline waters, wild rocks and green pine groves. Its location,
on El Alto del Risquillo, is a privileged viewpoint over the Tormes valley,
the Gredos massif and the Piedrahita and Béjar mountain ranges,
becoming a centre for excursions. Its sturdy stone walls conceal an interior
in which the comfortable bedrooms stand out, some with terraces. The classicism
of the wood prevails in the dining room, library and living rooms. The
presence of granite columns and the furniture offer the whole a traditional
Castilian style. |

Construction began around
1515 on this monumental building, which features a Spanish Plateresque
façade. The past makes its appearance in the Cloister, Church, Choir
and Chapterhouse, and the present in the careful renovation-work, combined
with an interior filled with works of art and rooms which gave shelter
to pilgrims in times of old. A night's stay here is truly a luxury, offering:
suites with views of the cloister, stately rooms, and a restaurant which
offers: Cocido Maragato (stew), frog legs, beef sweetbreads, cured beef
and goat meats and mountain meats. |

The Ducal Palace is located
in the highest part of the town of Lerma. It was constructed taking advantage
of the site of a 10th century castle. This hotel has a central courtyard
surrounded by columned galleries in alternating sections: the first has
twenty Tuscan columns with semicircular arches, and the second has twenty
Ionic columns. After its restoration the Palace has now been converted
into a Parador with 70 rooms and a capacity of 133 beds. The gastronomy
of the Parador is based on natural and tasty produce grown locally.

Burgos cheese ... |

in the illustrious town of Villafranca del Bierzo, capital of a very beautiful
region and former station on the road to Santiago. Its architecture imitates
the lines and forms of nearby, closely-felt Galicia. The landscapes of
the Ancares mountain range to the north complement the beauty of the Parador's
garden. Its interior is characterized by traditional Castilian decoration
in furniture in the entrance halls, chairs and wrought iron lamps. The

The seat of parliament in
1202, this Renaissance style castle was built by order of Fernando II de
León and forms part of the former walled enclosure of the town.
Practically razed to the ground in 1808 during the Peninsular War, it conserves
the monumental Torre del Caracol, where there is a living room with an
admirable Mudejar coffered ceiling. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, the
interior contains classical decorative elements such as rugs, forged lamps,
coffered ceilings, wood and Castilian bricks. Its spectacular living rooms

site of a former Roman fortress in the middle of the 15th c., rises up
in the historical centre of the capital of the province of Zamora and offers

aroma of the interior, which can be appreciated in armour, noble rugs and
attractive four poster beds, is combined with the Renaissance style of
